Most ’80s and ’90s kids grew up with Vans Warped Tour. Afterall, it was founded by Kevin Lyman in 1996 and featured numerous bands that were popular in those decades over the years. From metalcore A Day To Remember to punk rock Green Day to pop star Katy Perry and even the now well known rapper Eminem (yup – check out the 1999 lineup!), Warped Tour has highlighted hundreds of underground bands and contributed to bringing many of them into the spotlight. It’s no wonder a huge portion of the music community felt some amount of nostalgia and sadness when Lyman announced late last year that 2018 would be the final year of operation for Warped Tour.
The 2018 lineup consisted largely of bands that have been a part of the ‘Warped Family’ for years – August Burns Red, Crown the Empire, Every Time I Die, Ice Nine Kills, Issues, Less Than Jake, The Maine, Motionless In White, Pennywise, Simple Plan… just to name a few. Asking Alexandria, Black Veil Brides, Bowling For Soup, Falling In Reverse, The Used and Sum41 were among other bands that played on select dates.
Check out some of our Vans Warped Tour photos from the second to last date of the final run on August 4th in Tampa, FL at MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre.
