We caught Incubus on just the second date of their current headlining tour across the US in support of their eighth studio album release 8. After kicking off in West Palm Beach, FL last week, they headed to MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre in Tampa, FL on Friday, June 7th.
Supporting act Judah and the Lion opened the show with a short 30 minute set. Jimmy Eat World followed with a notably more lengthy set list that included several singles from their successful breakthrough album Bleed American.
Incubus took stage just after sundown. Although not officially sold out, the amphitheatre was packed to the brim with fans filling the general admission pit, the seats and all the way out to the edges of the lawn. No surprise, considering the band has been putting out chart topping singles since the 1990s. Look around, it was evident that many had grown up listening to Incubus on the radio – singing along to 17 year old hits such as “Drive,” “Pardon Me,” and latest singles “Nimble Bastard,” and “State of the Art” alike.
The tour will continue through August, ending in Auburn, WA. Incubus will also be a part of some of the fall festivals including Rock in Rio and Louder Than Life.
