One of the most anticipated tours of the year, Blink-182, A Day To Remember, The All-American Rejects and All Time Low easily sold out numerous dates long before the actual show days were even near. Tampa, Florida’s scheduled date was no exception, as the Midflorida Credit Union Amphitheatre packed in nearly 20,000 fans on August 6.
Blink-182’s set consisted of numerous singles that sent fans into a blast from the past including “What’s My Age Again”, “The Rock Show”, and “I Miss You”. The band released their seventh studio album California in July, this year, featuring Alkaline Trio vocalist Matt Skiba, who replaced founding vocalist and guitarist Tom DeLonge after his second exit from Blink-182 in 2015. Many of the new songs, including lead single “Bored To Death” and the live debut of “San Diego” were also mixed into the somehow lengthy 20 song set that seemed to fly by in moments. Appeasing an endless demanding crowd, the band returned to the stage for a four song encore which included newer song “Los Angeles” beside notable hits, “All The Small Things” and “Dammit”.
A Day To Remember performed as direct support, contrasting Blink-182 with a much heavier sound. Regardless, they were highly welcomed by the crowd, given the close location to their nearby hometown of Ocala, Florida. The All-American Rejects opened the Tampa date, however they were only on one leg of the tour while All Time Low performed at other dates.
