This summer, Tampa has been having a blast from the 80's icons past: Styx, REO, Foreigner and Cheap Trick. The 90's were also represented when Incubus and Jimmy Eat World kicked off their summer tour in Florida back in July... and now Matchbox Twenty is keeping the trend alive on the "A Brief History of Everything" tour.

Joining Matchbox Twenty on tour was fellow 90's rock band Counting Crows, who opened their set with "Hard Candy," "Omaha," and "Dislocation" - a diverse mix of songs throughout their discography. The more familiar singles appeared later in the set, and the crowd enjoyed singing along to "Big Yellow Taxi" (Joni Mitchell cover), "Mr. Jones," and "Hanginaround."

MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheater was packed full by the time Matchbox Twenty came out. The air filled with excited screams as Rob Thomas took the stage in full energy as he dove into the lyrics of "Real World". The "A Brief History of Everything" tour celebrates Matchbox Twenty's 20 years in the music business, and they continue to be an example of success. Thomas' talent is showcased through his live vocals which nearly mirror studio record sound. The band seemed in high spirits, bouncing across the stage and entertaining the crowd who sang every word of: "Bent," "Mad Season," "Unwell," "Push," among countless other hits.
